Patients may come to me for an evaluation for many reasons:
- to address new onset of psychiatric, behavioral or emotional problems
- to assess conditions where the diagnosis is unclear
- to treat illnesses that appear resistant to standard treatments
- to provide second opinions on diagnoses, medications, and treatment options
In all instances, I perform a thorough assessment that considers the patient’s current symptoms; past psychiatric history; physical health; long-standing patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving; quality of patients' relationships; occupational functioning; lifestyle and wellness practices; and the goals of treatment. It is only after considering all of these factors will I then propose a treatment plan that is specifically tailored to each individual's needs and works best for them.
