Psychotherapy involves the application of validated techniques to address a variety of mental health conditions and the distress that often accompany them.
I use insight-oriented, supportive, and cognitively based treatments to help broaden patients’ understanding of themselves and their environment, set expectations, and learn and practice tools to modulate thoughts, feelings and behaviors. These skill-sets will help patients navigate an increasingly complex world and allow for perspective.
Psychotherapy treatment can be short-term or open-ended, depending on the needs of the patient. An immediate crisis might suggest short-term, or goal-oriented therapy, while more persistent issues may require longer-term treatment.
